Angel stood like a log of wood, staring at Jewel's retreating figure. she couldn't believe what just happened. it was not like she was coming to apologize. she only wanted to tell him
that Dr. Femi wants to see him. she stood at the garden for close to 3 minutes without leaving. After a while of standing, she left the garden.

Francis sat alone in an empty class. he seemed to be lost in his thought. A lot seemed to be on his mind. he hasn't been himself for a while now, and that's because of the lady he saw in class. He has been thinking about her from the first day he saw her. He couldn't explain the kind of feelings he was having. There was something special about that lady he can't seemed to explain. Or has he fallen in love with her. He can't possibly fall in love with someone he was just meeting for the first time. He knew nothing about her. how can he just be thinking about a lady he has never spoken to. he really don't understand what is going on. he was lost in thought that he didn't know when someone walked into the class.
'hey you' he heard behind him.
He quickly turned to see Lucy standing behind him. Her face was curved in a smile. He froze immediately he saw her. That was the same lady he was thinking about, and here she was, standing beside him. He couldn't do much to hide the surprise look on his face.
Lucy walked to him and sat beside him.
"why are you sitting here alone? what are you thinking?" she asked.
"erm....... erm....." he stammered.
He seemed not to have recovered from the shock of seeing her beside him.
Lucy placed a hand on his shoulder and stared into his eyes.
"are you okay? what's the problem?" she asked, feeling concerned.
"not.....no.....nothing" Francis stammered.
Lucy presence is making him uncomfortable. he never expected to see her there.
"are you sure?" she asked.
"ye... yes" he answered.
"okay if you say so" Lucy said.
There was a deafening silence for a why before Lucy spoke.
"you must be Jewel's friend. I saw you together today in class." Lucy said.
"yeah, he is my friend. my childhood friend" Francis responded.
"wow! you have been friends with jewel from childhood" she said.
"yeah" Francis responded.
"that means you will know a lot about him" Lucy said.
"yeah" Francis responded.
"actually, my friend misunderstood him and had to say some bad words to him. can you give me his number so that I can call him and apologize on her behalf." Lucy said.
"that won't be a problem" Francis responded.
Lucy gave Francis her phone and he typed Jewel's number. he returned the phone when he was done.
"thank you" Lucy said
"you are welcome" Francis responded.
"when are you leaving this place?" she asked.
"I'm about leaving" Francis responded.
"let's leave together then" Lucy said.
"okay" he responded.
They stood up and left the class together.

Jewel entered his room to see Henry already in the room. Henry was lying on his bed. He sat up immediately he saw.
"you are back. what took you so long. the class ended some hours ago" Henry said
"I went to the faculty garden to get some fresh air" Jewel responded.
"okay" Henry said.
Jewel walked to his bed and sat on the edge.
"I have talked to Angel already" Jewel said.
"really!" Henry said and rushed to sit beside Jewel on his bed.
"what did you tell her?" Henry asked, curiously.
"I told her to stay away from me. I told her that we should pretend like we have never met and avoid each other whenever we see each other" Jewel responded.
Henry stared at Jewel confused. Jewel noticed the looked on Henry's face.
"what's wrong. why are you staring at me that way?" Jewel asked.
"I thought you wanted to end the quarrel with her" Henry said.
"yes, that was what i did" Jewel responded.
"how can you say you ended the quarrel with what you said to her." Henry said.
"what's wrong with what I said? isn't it better that we avoid each other" Jewel said.
"I thought you want to make peace with her" Henry said.
"I think this is the best way to make peace. I really don't want to start having problem with someone you plan to date" Jewel responded.
"okay if you say so" Henry said.
"have you told her that you like her?" Jewel asked.
"no" Henry responded.
"why?" Jewel asked.
"I'm waiting for the right time" Henry responded.
"when is the right time? you better make the move now or you might regret it later. Angel is a very beautiful lady. do you know the number of guys that might be admiring her. if you waste any time, you might lose her to someone else" Jewel advised.
Henry thought for a while.
"thanks Jewel. I will do exactly that. I will approach her and tell her how I feel" Henry said.
"that's what you should do" Jewel responded.
A knock sounded on the door and they turned their attention to the door. the door opened almost immediately and Francis walked in. he went straight to Jewel's bed and sat down.
He wasn't looking too happy.
"what's wrong?" Jewel asked.
"nothing" Francis responded.
"you haven't gone to your hostel?" Jewel asked.
"my roommate wouldn't have returned. I will be alone in the room, that's why I came here instead" Francis responded.
"okay" Jewel said.
There was a deafening silence in the room for a while before Francis spoke.
"how do you know when you are in love?" he asked.
Jewel and Henry turned to face him immediately. they stared at him suspiciously.
"who are you in love with?" Jewel asked.
"not me. someone asked me this same question, but I couldn't give him a reasonable response, that's why I decided to ask you" he responded and look away immediately.
He took a side glance at Jewel and Henry to see if they believed him.
"when you are in love, you will know. you won't need anyone to tell you" Henry responded.
"just like that?" Francis asked.
"yeah, just like that" Henry responded.
Francis didn't ask anymore question. he just accepted Henry's response. He stayed with them for a while, and when it was getting dark, he left for his hostel.

Jewel and Henry left the hostel very early for lecture. The class was almost filled when they got to the lecture hall. they went to the far-left and sat down.
The lecturer was not yet in class. They waited silently for the lecturer. Few minutes later, The course rep walked into the class. he went straight to meet Jewel.
"Dr. Femi wants to see you." the course rep said.
"now?" jewel asked.
"yes, now" he responded.
"can't you see lecture is about to begin" Jewel said.
"I'm just here to deliver Dr. Femi message. he wants you in his office now" the course rep said and left Jewel's presence.
"why is Dr. Femi looking for you?" Henry asked immediately the course rep left.
"I don't know. I will have to go and find out." Jewel responded.
He stood up and left the class immediately.
The lecturer walked into the class immediately Jewel left. He went straight to the board and began the business of the day.

Jewel stood in front of Dr. Femi's door. He tried to think of what might make Dr. Femi wants to see him, but couldn't think of anything reasonable.
After a while of standing at the door, he knocked softly on it.
"come in" Dr. Femi's voice sounded from inside.
He slowly entered to see Dr. Femi sitting behind his desk. he was reading the morning newspaper. Jewel locked the door behind him.
"good morning sir" Jewel greeted.
There was no response from Dr. Femi. he didn't even take his gaze off the newspaper he was reading.
Jewel stood beside the door without saying anything else. he waited silently for Dr. Femi to round up with what he was doing.
30 minutes later, Dr. Femi was still reading the same newspaper. he didn't even take a glance at Jewel's direction. Jewel looked at his watch and realized that he was 30 minutes late for his lecture. He was becoming impatient, just standing there.
"sir you sent for me" he said.
Dr. Femi didn't respond. instead he drop the newspaper he was reading and picked another one, and started reading it.
Jewel's eyes widen in surprise. he stared at the lecturer who just completely ignored him.

The lecturer ended his lecture and left the class. every other students left the class also. Henry didn't leave the class. He was waiting for Jewel. jewel hasn't returned since he went to Dr. Femi's office.
"I wonder what Jewel will still be doing in Dr. Femi's office up till now." he said to himself.
He turned to his left to see Jessica also in the class. her gaze was fixed on the book on her desk. They were the only ones left in the class.
He suddenly remember what Jewel said to him.
'I think this will be the best way for me to get close to Angel. I have to get close to her friend. that will be the easiest way to get close to her.' he thought.
He stood up and walked to meet her. he sat beside her.
"what are you still doing in class" Henry asked.
Jessica looked up from her desk to see Henry sitting beside her.
"I'm revising what we learned" she responded.
"okay" Henry said.
"did you understand what was thought in class?" Jessica asked.
"yes" Henry please.
"please can you explain it to me. I don't seem to understand it" Jessica requested.
"now" he asked.
"yes" she responded.
"I can't explain it to you now. I have to be somewhere. come to the faculty garden this evening. I will explain it to you there." he said
"okay no problem. I will be there" she responded.
Henry heaved a sigh of relief. he couldn't imagine explaining the topic to her right there in the class, because he don't know a thing about that topic. the didn't pay attention when the lecturer was teaching. he has to go and learn it properly.
"are you not leaving yet?" Henry asked.
"I'm leaving. let's leave together." she responded.
she stood up and they left the class together.

Jewel was still standing in Dr. Femi's office. he has been standing there for close to two hours. Dr. Femi hasn't said a word to him. all he had been doing was reading newspaper. that was the fourth newspaper he was reading. Jewel was already very tired standing in his office. He has missed his first lecture for the day. he couldn't understand why Dr. Femi called him to his office and completely ignored him. 'at least he should have offered me a sit' he thought. he watched the lecturer silently.
Dr. Femi dropped the fourth paper he was reading and was about picking the fifth one.
"sir" Jewel called.
"will you shut up" Dr. Femi barked.
Jewel froze immediately. he didn't see that coming. he stared at Dr. Femi in shock.
"now tell me, how does it feel to be ignored. you didn't know why I was calling you and you ignored it. that's how some of you miss out on opportunities." Dr. Femi said angrily.
Jewel stared at the lecturer, confused. He didn't understand what he was talking about.
"tell me how you feel now" Dr Femi said.
"I asked Angel to call you, and you sent her back to tell me that you are not coming"
Jewel's eyes widen in shock. Angel never said anything to him. why would he refuse to answer Dr. Femi. Angel has lied against him.
"you didn't even know why I asked to see you" Dr. Femi continued.
"but sir............"
"shut up" Dr. Femi barked.
"get out of my office"
"sir I............"
"I say get out"
Jewel rushed out of his office immediately. He never expected such from Dr. Femi. what could Angel have said to him that made him this angry.
"I must confront Angel. I need to know what she said to Dr. Femi." he said and left Dr. Femi's office to look for Angel.

Jewel rushed to the faculty garden to look for Angel. He saw her coming out of the garden when he got there. he approached her immediately and blocked her way. He glared at her.
"why did you lie to Dr. Femi. when did you tell me that Dr. Femi wanted to see me?" he asked.
Angel didn't respond. she just stared silently at Jewel.
"what did you say to Dr. Femi?" he asked.
"I thought you said we should start avoiding each other. why are you approaching me now. please let's stay away from each other." Angel responded and walked out on Jewel.

Jewel stared at the retreating figure of Angel until she was out of sight. He let the garden immediately also.

The lecturer walked to the board and wrote 'first semester test' on it. He turned to face the class.
"I said you should space yourself" he barked.

"please sir" the class chorused.
"will you shut up. do you think I came hear to joke" the lecturer barked.
Some minutes later, students were seen sitting at reasonable distance, away from each other, with their pen and paper on their desk. It seemed that the lecturer really meant what he said. He went to the board and wrote 5 questions for the class to solve. He turned and faced the class when he was done.
"you have 15 minutes to answer the questions. if you like, joke with it. that will be the beginning of failure for you." he said in a serious tune.
The class began the test immediately. While some were still trying to write down some things, others still have their paper blank.
15 minutes later, the lecturer collected the answer scripts. most of the students submitted a blank script, with just their names and matric number on it. only few students were able to write down some things. The questions the lecturer set was suppose to be the topic for that day, which most of the students have no idea of.
"see you all in the next class" the lecturer said and left the class.
A loud uproar filled the class immediately the lecturer left. students gathered in group of three or four to discuss the just concluded test. Henry came to sit beside Jewel immediately.
"how was it?" Henry asked.
"it was cool" Jewel responded.
"you call that scary questions cool. it was not cool on my part o." Henry said.
"why? didn't you finish it?" Jewel asked.
"I didn't even attempt any of the questions. I submitted a blank scripts." Henry responded.
"why?" Jewel asked.
"that's because I don't know any of the questions. I just pray the lecturer won't use it as part of our C.A, because I will surely score zero if he does" Henry said sadly.
"I don't think he will use it." Jewel said.
"anyway, let's put that aside." Henry said.
"okay" Jewel responded.
After a while of silence, Henry spoke.
"Jewel" he called softly.
"yes" Jewel responded.
"I really don't know what transpired between you and Angel, that made her said those things to you, but I just want to plead on her behalf. please forgive her" Henry pleaded.
"why are you pleading on her behalf?" Jewel asked.
"because I like that lady, and I plan to date her. I don't want you to be having problem with someone that might be my girlfriend. I hope you can forgive her" Henry responded.
Jewel stared at Henry for 2 minutes without saying anything. after a while of silence, he spoke.
"I truly don't have anything against her. All I will do from now on is to avoid her, so that there won't be any problem between us. you don't have to worry yourself. you can go on and date her if you like her" Jewel responded.
"thank you very much Jewel." Henry said.
"you are welcome" Jewel responded.
Francis joined them minutes later and they left the class together.

Angel, Jessica and Lucy went to the school restuarant to have lunch. They had attended four lectures already in just one day, and they seemed to be tired and hungry. They sat at the far-left in the restuarant and ate their food silently. After a while of silence, Lucy spoke.
"Angel, I really don't know why you said those things to Jewel. what did he do?" she asked.
"just leave that guy. he thinks he can joke with everyone and go free. certainly not with me" Angel responded.
" I think you must have misunderstood him. maybe he acted rudely to you when he was in a bad mood. he did same to me, but later apologized. he is not who you think he is. he is a very nice guy. you will get to like him if you get close to him." Lucy said.
"why are you speaking as if you have known him for a long time" Angel said.
"I don't need to stay with him for a long time to know that he is a very nice guy." Lucy responded.
The restuarant door opened and their course rep walked in. He went to meet them immediately.
"Angel, I have been searching for you all over the school." The course rep said to Angel.
"Daniel, I hope there is no problem." she said, referring to the course rep. "why are you looking for me?"
"Dr. Femi wants to see you. he said you should meet him in his office" Daniel responded.
Angel froze at the mention of Dr. Femi. That was the same lecturer that gave them an impromptu test just because the class was noisy when he entered.
"why is he looking for me?" Angel asked.
"I don't know. when you get to his office, you will find out yourself" Daniel responded.
Angel stared at Daniel suspiciously for a while, before speaking.
"okay, I will go and see him"she responded and stood up.
"you guys should wait for me. I will be right back" she said to the other ladies and left the restuarant.

Few minutes later, Angel was standing at Dr. Femi's door. she seemed nervous. several thought were running through her mind. could it be that Daniel had told the lecturer that she caused the commotion in class today, and the lecturer wants to punish her for it. she pray silently for that not to be the case. she took a deep breath and knock softly on the door.
"come in" Dr. Femi voice sounded from inside.
she opened the door and slowly entered his office. she locked the door behind her and stood beside it.
"good afternoon sir" she greeted.
Dr. Femi didn't respond. he only focused his attention on the phone he was holding. Angel stood there like a log of wood, without saying anything. After a while, Dr. Femi looked up to face Angel.
"Are you Angel?" Dr. Femi asked.
"ye.... yes sir" she stammered.
"please have a seat" Dr. Femi said.
"sir" she said, not sure if she heard what the lecturer said. she wasn't expecting him to offer her a seat, if he wants to punish her.
"have your seat" Dr Femi repeated.
"thank you sir" she responded and sat down.
"I just marked your test scripts, and I must say that I'm really impressed by what you wrote. Even though I set the test from topic I haven't taught you in class, you still did very well. That showed you are very serious with you study and always reading ahead of the class. I called you here to encourage you to keep it up. if you continue this way, you will surely graduate with a first class degree. make sure you don't allow friends to mislead you. always keep doing the right thing" Dr. Femi advised
"thank you sir. I really appreciate your advice." Angel said.
"okay, you can leave now. that's why I called you here." Dr. Femi said.
Angel stood up to leave.
"please wait" Dr. Femi said.
Angel turned to face Dr. Femi.
"please call me Jewel when you go out" Dr. Femi said.
"Jewel!" Angel said in shock. the same Jewel she is quarreling with.
"yes Jewel. he is another student that did really great in the test. I also what to say some few words to him. you both are really great. you should not relent. you should keep such people as friend. they will surely drive you to success. he knows his reason in this school and is working hard towards achieving it. you both should be close to each other, because you are very serious with your studies." Dr. Femi said.
"thank you sir. let me go and look for him." Angel said.
"okay, you can go now" Dr. Femi responded.
Angel walked out of Dr.
 Femi's office and locked the door behind her. she rested her back on the wall and sighed.
"why will Dr. Femi asked me to go and call that jerk, of all people." she said.
She left Dr. Femi's office to look for Jewel.
After searching round the faculty for up to ten minutes, she still couldn't find jewel. She decided to go look for him at the faculty garden.

Jewel sat alone at the faculty garden. he didn't return to the hostel with Henry. he wanted to be alone, so that he could think properly. The first thought that clouded his mind was what Henry said to him in class today. The fact that Henry plans to date Angel kept troubling his mind. He wouldn't want to keep having problem with someone his friend plan to date. he will try as much as possible to avoid her. that will be better for all of them.
A tap on his shoulder brought him back to reality. He turned to see Angel standing beside him. He froze immediately he saw her. that was the same Angel he was trying to avoid. he stared silently at her and she stared back. After a while of deafening silence, Angel spoke.
"I have been searching all over the school for you. I never knew you will be here" she said.
Jewel didn't respond. He just kept staring at her.
"Dr. Femi................"
"do you want to apologize for what you did?" Jewel asked, cutting her off from completing her sentence.
"apologize" Angel said, surprised.
"you have realized what you did wrong and want to apologize. you don't have to apologize, because it's useless apologizing to me. I want to tell you right now that we should never come close to each other. let's just pretend like we have never met and forget all that happened between us. let's ignore each other whenever we meet. I have too many problem already, and I don't want you to add to it. please stay away from me." Jewel said and walked out of Angel.

I slowly open my eyes and found myself at the hospital, mom was seated next to me while Arina was standing, they were all crying as if am death.
"mom," i said then try to sat up but the pain down my stomach couldn't allow me.
"Brittney, i thought am gonna lose you. You were unconscious since yesterday night," She said crying while she held my hands.
"mom what happen? what's wrong with me, why am i feeling this way? i asked while mom looked at me in tears.
"you're fine Brittney," she said in tears.
"what did you mean am fine? i asked.
"you need to rest Brittney," mom said while i sighed then rest my head on the pillow maybe she don't want to tell me what's wrong with me. I looked at Arina who was crying which make me to smile.
"i can't die yet Arina, so stop crying, am not gonna die i will make sure the Brooks pay darely for what they did to mom before i die," i said while she wipe away her tears and smile.
"you're seriously sick Brittney, i was scared yesterday night, when i went out and found on lying on the floor, it was so scary," she said while i said nothing, i just hope nothing is wrong with me, i don't want to be a bruden to mom, where will she even get money for my treatment.
The next day in the evening i was discharged back home and mom brought some drugs for me which she said it was precribed by the doctor.
"mom what did the doctor said about me? i asked while my mom fake a smile, i knew nothing was right but i just kept quiet.
"you need much rest Brittney, no more going to club or drinking, you need to rest and you also need to take much water, the doctor said it so important now, for you to take so much water," she said while i rolled my yees.
"even when am not thirsty, what the heck is wrong? i half yelled at her.
"nothing Brittney, i don't want you to stress yourself again, just do as the doctor said," she said while i nodded, i think am gonna find out everything myself. After eating, i took my drugs then slept off.

Russell's POV
I cried out as i read the test result the doctor gave me earlier about Brittney, i was still in shock, i don't know what else to do. Brittney might die anything from now if care is not taken, where do i get money for her treatment, why is life so wicked to me, life had been unfiar, first it was Courtney and now Brittney, what if i lose Brittney, i really don't know what else am living for, she's the only family and friend i have left. I sat beside her and watch her sleep, my heart is beating mso faster, am scared, am so scared i might lose Brittney anytime from now. I have to do something, i need to get much money. I support my bent head with my palms and cried, am left alone to suffer this, no one, not even Wilson to help me out, he's enjoying with his family forgetting he has another family somewhere, what a monster. I quickly went to my room and kept the test result inside my box, i don't want Brittney to know anything about this, she might do something crazy, i will just try harder to earn much money for her drugs and treatment. Oh God Brittney is the only child i have left spare her life this once, just this once.

Wilson's POV
It indeed a happy home, Loren and Courtney are getting alone and i really like that, even Tracy seems to be a little nice to Courtney. We had dinner together which was great, i feel so happy from outside but deep down me is filled much sadness, after dinner Courtney and Loren went out for a stroll while i went back to my study room, picked up an old box and that filled with memories of my first love. I open the box and removed out a piles of my photos with Rose my late wife. Her name is Russell but i actually love calling her Rose, my Rose. I keep looking at our pictures which make tears welled in my eyes, i remembered the day she died..

I return back home from my trip, it was an urgent business trip if not i couldn't have go cos my wife was three month pregnant by then, they day i arrived was the day she died. Mom and Tracy called and told me to come to the ware house where Rose was kidnapped and was burn to death.
I arrived at the ware house which was already on fire, suddenly the ambulnace came and a death burnt body was carried out. The cops confirm that it was only my wife in the house while the kidnappers escape. I felt my own crushing down on me. I've just lose two people at once, my wife and baby. That was the saddest day of my life and ever since then i have always been a sad man in my heart, even when i had Loren that wasn't able to comfort me. A weeks after Rose burial Tracy broke the news to me about her being pregnant for me, i was confused at first, i don't actually know how i got her pregnant because ever since i got married to Rose i have nothing to do with Tracy again, but i remembered the night we spend at Quebec, when we went for a trip together which gat to do with business, i guess i was just drunk and Tracy was as well drunk, everything happen to fast and i felt like i cheated on Rose which i never want to, each year i visit her grave side to drop flowers, i really miss her so much and also our unborn baby, i wonder why my happy family doesn't last and i wonder who might be behind her kidnapped. Even after her death i tried calling Lucas her brother but i couldn't reach him, i went to college where he studys but i heard he left, i search everywhere i could to tell him about his sister death but he was no where to be found. I just have to accept Tracy with her baby but that doesn't change the way i still feel for my late wife, am so unfortunate to have lose such good person as Russell.

I kept staring at some of our wedding pictures, my face was moist and then i realise i was crying, it was so difficult to move on without Russell. But thanks goodness i have another family and am glad everything works out good for us here.

Loren's POV
After dinner, i and Courtney stroll out to the pool side as we gist, i really like her company, having a sister is really nice but that doesn't mean i love her, i will still gonna kill her if she tries to take Brown away from me. We sat down by the pool side enjoying the cool breeze.
"Courtney, i hope you know how much i love Brown," i said while she look at me.
"sure Loren and you're so lucky cos Brown loves you too," she said while i smiled.
"i don't want to lose Brown and am suspecting he's flirting with those crazy girls at the KFH. Can you please help me, make sure he's not close to any girl at KFH," I said while she laugh softly.
"don't be over protective Loren, Brown loves you and won't cheat on you, don't you trust him? she asked while i nodded.
"i love and trust my Brown," i replied smiling.
"then no need for all these, after all you know all the girls are dying to have him but he doesn't like any of them," she said.
"and how sure am i you also don't like him? i asked while she looked at me then smiled.
"of course i like Brown as a friend and also as my sister boyfriend, nothing more than that, Loren don't think negative about this," she said while i smile then held her hands.
"thank you so much Courtney, i never knew this what i have been missing, to have a good sister like you and to someone to talk to," i said. The game is just about to begin Courtney, i have to make sure you trust me before i do anything stupid, first you took away all the love my dad has for me and now you're still trying to take away Brown. I will make sure i kill her myself, you're such a weakling and it won't even take a minute to finish you with just a hot slap or push, I smirked feeling so happy about my plan.
"dad will gonna throw a party for us, his daughters, hope you'll like it," i said while she smiled.
"sure," she smiled.
"i just want us to celebrate and be happy again, dad was the one that plan for this, he said he'll gonna threw a grand party for our family to celebrate this happiness," .
"dad is always so sweet, that's good of him," she replied
"it will be more appealing and nice if it is done at the parco hall, i really love that place," i said then held her hands as we stood up and walked back into the house. I felt so happy my plans are working on, let see how that party will gonna be. I will make sure Courtney is gone forever.

Courtney's POV
I was dressed in black shirk then a white turtle neck top and black sneaker, i was already at the office hoping to see Brown but he hasn't come yet. During lunch time i went to the nearest restuarant to have lunch when i saw surprise by who i saw. It was Eric, my best friend. We both finish at Lamorne Fashion & Design college and after we all graduate he left to Singapore to further his studies, i know he must be a great person by now.
"Courtney," he called out my name so excited and quickly hugged me tight.
"Eric, when did you come back? i asked while he smile and we sat down.
"just last week, Lesley has told me about you and she said you also works at the KFH, you're so lucky cos not everyone get a job over their, that such a great opportunity," he said while i smiled. We order for something to eat and he gisted about how things went on with him after we graduated, am so happy to see him, he looks so good and handsome.
"i miss you so much Courtney and am glad your still doing well, what about your sister, your foster mom and dad? he asked while i smiled.
"they're all fine Eric and beside i and Loren are getting alone, their's nothing to worry about," i said smiling. 
"i need to go back to work for now, we can meet tomorrow and spend more time," i said while he smile. He took me back to the office in his car.
"wow, the KFH is such a nice place," he said while i chuckle.
"see you tomorrow Eric," i waved at him and he wave back before getting in his car. I smile as i watch him leave. He's such a nice person, the good friend i thought i have lost. I sighed then walked back to the office happily, i can't wait to tell Lesley about this. Eric is back and i hope he isn't gonna go again, i need a good friend like him. I kept smiling to myself.

The next day which was saturday i planned to go out with Eric later in the evening so i went to the market to get some stuff, am gonna prepare dinner myself. Dad said he misses my food, so i went to the market with the Mrs. Tanny the one incharge of everything that has to do with food in the house.
"this too much Miss, why are your stuff this costly, you can't cheat on me," a familiar voice yelled and i quickly take another turn and saw Brittney talking to the seller in a rude way.
"if you don't want to buy anything here, just leave," the woman said to her while Brittney fumed in anger.
"you guys are all cheat, this too much, the last time i brought this was at a cheap price," Brittney yelled while another woman which i guess is her mom.
"let just go Brittney, don't create a scene here," the beautiful woman said to her and i spent a while staring at her which i don't why.
"uhmm.. Brittney," i said then walked to them. She look at me with much hatred which i wonder if she has frogotten me.
"just pick anything, am gonna pay it," i said then smile a little bit.
"that the heck! did you think i couldn't afford this, oh is that what you see me as a poor person from the slum," she yelled at me then began to hit me with her basket.
"Brittney stop! her mom yelled at her but she kept hitting me.
"you witch, you've finally see us again, so you could kill me and my mom. I hate you so much, just stay away from me and my mom, or else i kill you myself," she yelled at me while i quickly shift away from her to avoid her from hitting me, tears were already forming in my eyes and Mrs. Tanny quickly came and held me.
"we need to go am done with the shopping," she said while i nodded then turn to Brittney who was still rendering curses on me.

Brittney's POV
"Stop it Brittney," mom yelled at me then dragged me with her. We arrived home and mom was mad at me.
"look mom, i was so mad at the seller cos the food stuff cost much, we don't have enough money to buy that and as for that stupid girl does she think i can't afford to buy all that," i said so pissed off as i sat down on my bed.
"Brittney, you should learn to control your anger, you shouldn't have hit her, she was only trying to help," mom yelled.
"no mom, she's the daughter of the so call man you call my father, she's part of them mom and who knows if she was sent by her damn mother to us, mom am only trying to protect us," i said while she sighed then looked at me.
"if their should be anyone to be punish it should be your father, his mother and his wife. The three of them and not their daughters," she yelled the walked of my room slamming the door behind. I ruffle my hair, threw the basket beside me and cried.
"he's not my father, i've cut every ties i have with him, i hate him and his family so much," i yelled in tears.
....Later in the evening after taking my bath i put on a simple top and a bum short, soon it began to rain so heavily, i checked on mom and found her sleeping on the old couch. The heavy rainfall was to scary most especially the lighting and thunder sound, i walked to my room and discovered my bed was drenched, i then look up and notice the roof was leaking. What sort of badluck is this, that's why i hate the rain so much, i quickly picked up my bedsheet from the bed but my bed was already wet. I just picked up my blanket from my box and a mat, i went to the sitting room and covered mom with my blanket while i rolled a mat to sleep on, i felt a sharp pain down my stomach, i felt so dizzy all of a sudden and i was sweating already, i fall to the ground close to mom which she quickly wake up and held me.
"mom, tell me what wrong with me? i stammered then fell on knees and collasped on the floor..

"oh, so sorry i just walked in without knocking," Mrs. Tanny our maid said as she walked in with some luggage, i felt quite relief it was her.
"your dad is back," she said while i smiled then walked to the door. Dad walked in while mom followed behind then Loren they look so happy.
"dad,! i called ou then hugged him, i then turn to hug mom but she just glare at me as usual.
"i miss you so much Courtney," Loren said then hugged me tight, i was surprise by her actions, i just hope this time we become sister for good.
"Brown, i miss you baby so much," she smiled then hugged him.
"but.. dad i thought you'll gonna stay for two weeks but it just a week now," i said.
"don't you want us to come, are you hiding anything from us? mom asked while i nodded.
"am so scared of what you told me Courtney, i was the one that insist we come for your sake," dad said while i smiled.
"and what is Brown doing here with you all alone is in this house? mom asked while i looked at Loren then to Brown.
"it nothing, i decided to bring her home," Brown said while Loren smiled.
"good idea, you should get alone so that you will get to know your sister in law so well," Loren said then turn to me.
"Courtney dear am really sorry for everything, i want us to start this afresh, you're such a good person, please forgive me for all my wrong doing," She said holding my hands while i smiled.
"it okay Loren, you're still my sister and am glad you've realise your mistakes," i said then glance at Brown who was happy to see us and dad too. Mrs. Tanny packed their luggage back to their rooms and soon dinner was annouced. Loren insist Brown should have dinner with her which he did. The dinner was great and i was happy everything is now okay with me and Loren, and dad is also happy. After dinner i went back to my room while Loren and Brown walked outside.

After dinner which went on well, Courtney walked to her room while Loren escort me to the gate, i felt so happy seeing their family happy, i guess Loren idea to go for this vocation worked out, her dad and mom are already getting alone.
"I hope you and Courtney will get alone, no more fighting? i asked while she smiled.
"no more fighting Brown it a promise, Courtney is my sister, no more jealous or anything else, we gonna work together as family, i cross my heart," she said while i smile.
"i hope so Loren, i just want to see you and your family happy," i said while she hugged me so tight.
"i miss you so much Brown, promise never to leave me, because i might not survive without you, you're my inspiration and you've been of great help to me in this life, i guess Anita was right when she said am so lucky to have you, please Brown say something, just promise never to leave me," she said still hugging me so tight.
"it okay Loren, we are still together and am not letting go of you, you're still my girlfriend and i love you so very much. I just want you to behave normal towards everyone," i whisper to her. We stood in that position for like fifteen seconds, i felt my heart beating faster, i felt like i no longer want Loren, but i still have to.
"i have to go," i said while she withdrew from the hug.
"see you tommorrow then, i love you," she said while i replied with a smile, i walked to where my car was parked then entered and zoomed off.

Courtney's POV
I stood at the balcony staring at Loren and Brown hugging each other so tight make her heart beat faster which i don't why, i feel so happy now that Loren has decide to be a good person and thank goodness she's also okay with Brown.
"Courtney! i heard dad called my name and i quickly turn to him.
"dad,! i said smiling.
"i have something for you," dad said then hand me a small red box.
"this for you," he smiled, i slowly open it and was surpirse by the diamond necklace inside, it look so beautiful.
"this for you Courtney, you deserve something better than this," dad said while i hugged him.
"this more than enough dad, i don't know why you've been so good to me, thank you so much," i said with teary eyes.
"thank you very much dad, i think you're the best father ever, now that Loren has realise her mistakes i do hope we gonna be one big family again," i said then put on the necklace round my neck.
"it suits you, and you look like a princess," he said while i smiled. I have got all the love of the a father every child will ever want to but i just wish to know my real father, i wish my mom and sister never died so i can have my own family someday.

Brown's POV
I was in my study room busy with the year plan at dad company at the wine company and as the same time handling the KFH. Mom walked in and was so happy when i told her what happen at the office and how Courtney was able to impress those chinese people.
"i really love that girl, i need to see her, you need to bring her here," mom said as she sat down opposite to me.
"no mom, you know i can't do that and beside i don't think she will agree to that, you know Loren is her sister they're now getting alone i don't want to ruin everything for them," i said, my eyes were still fixed on my laptop.
"really! The Chinese order for 20,000 piece of our jewelries, that great, i think that girl is a genuis she's good in such business, why not make her the MBA in marketing, she deserve that," mom said while i smiled.
"can i see her picture? mom asked while i hand her my phone and checked out some of her pictures.
"OMG, She's so beautiful, i mean this real beauty," mom said so excited.
"mom! you're too disturbing," i said then siwtch off my system and stood up. "i need to rest, am damn tired,".
"okay then, goodnight son," she smile then peck my cheeks and left. Arrgh.. mom is just like Anita she talks too much. I took my shower and headed to my room, i wore my pyjamas and laid on my bed thinking about the whole thing, i couldn't stop thinking about Courtney, i don't know she's always on my mind, she got me really crazy. I hope am not falling for her because Loren will be heartbroken and for sure Courtney will never allow that. I picked up my phone and kept staring at her picture which make me smile.

Anita's POV
Am just getting too busy this time while Greg was busy as well i wish we could spent more time together, i really miss him so badly. I got dressed and went to see Loren she just told me she came back from the Paris with her family, i arrived at the restuarant and meet Loren who was already waiting for me.
"hey Loren, welcome back," i smile then sipped from the glass of wine that was kept for me already.
"am back and you've fail me, you didn't do the job well," she said while i rolled my eyes.
"hey Loren am not that bad as you think, i don't want my brother to hate me for life and also my parents, we are actually a happy family not like yours," i said while she looked at me then smirk.
"huh! are you trying to say my family is not as good as yours, come on Anita, i love Brown i just want to get Courtney out of the way, am already trying hard to be a good sister to her so she could believe me and i can ruin her life completely," she said while i smiled.
"that will gonna be smart of you Loren, but becareful you know how much your dad loves her," i said while she rolled her eyes.
"nothing to worry Anita, i just need your help, i need you to help me when it comes to Brown," she smiling.
"okay, what is it? i asked, she moved a bit closer to me then whisper something to my ear.
"are you serious about this? i asked her very shocked.
"sure," she nodded.
"you're such a bad bitch Loren, well i don't want to ruin my reputation as a model and also that of my family, i will think about that," i said while she smiled.
"look Anita, let me ask you this, if any girl try to take away Greg from you what else would you do? she asked while i looked at her.
"i wouldn't spare that girl, i will make sure i hired my men to kill her immediately, i don't joke when it come to Greg cos i love him so much, i mean so very much," i said while she smile.
"and that exactly what i want to do, i don't trust that Courtney, look," she said then removed an envelope from her bag which has a pciture of Courtney and Brown at the restuarant having lunch, the other picture was when he was trying to kiss her, i mean he almost kiss her.
"where did you get all this from? i asked.
"i hired Simon who works at the KFH to spy Courtney movement with my boyfriend and this one is from the CCTV camera in our sitting room. I cried the whole day Anita, i don't want to lose Brown," she said with teary eyes.
"too bad, but just slow down with your plans Loren, please don't touch that girl yet, let wait a little bit," i said to her.
"wait! i should wait until Brown finally break up with me and say he loves Courtney. Anita you're not serious," she yelled.
"hey babe calm down, am gonna help you out, but you can't kill anyone yet," i said while she gulped down a cup of wine and tore the picture she showed me.
"am gonna tell my dad about this, i know dad will hate Courtney for this," she said while i smile.
"i guess that's the plan, once your dad is mad at her, you can chase her out of your house," i said while she frown looking at me.
"dad will never chase Courtney out, he will only be mad at her, and even if she's out of our house she gat a lot of money in her account, one way to solve this out is to kill her! she said in tears.

Brittney's POV
Arina inform me about the show at the huge hall in town, am already dressed to sing cos i know am gonna earn enough money today. I was dressed in a black jeans trouser, my long hair is packed in ponytail with a pink ribbon, then i wore a black singlet and pink jacket and a black boot. Arina helped me with the make up while we walked to the venue, ever since i started this singing stuff, people do like me, my voice and my song so i was invited over their, it one of the beautiful places in Montreal, and musicians from different places will gonna attend, It more like a singing competition and whoever wins will be sponsored by any of the musicians, too bad i haven't registered cos i gat no money for that. Well after the singing stuff and some shows displayed by some of the musician it was so fun and i have to wait till dawn i know mom will be worried about me but i have to stay late, i need to get something doing, i don't want to sit at home being ideal, it better i sing here and get paid for. I walked on stage then picked up a guitar, the hall was damn noisy but when i started it with a low tune, everyone was mute, the whole place was quiet and were all listening to my song,. i do usually sing about love and life, this two major things. The whole people cheer up and i was surprise everyone was happy about with the way i sing. After singing i went back to my seat and Arina was so excited.
"you did it babe, you look so beautiful and you sang so good," she said clapping while i smile.
"i did! well am feeling so dizzy and pains, i will just use the rest room," i siad then quickly left, i actually don't know what's wrong with me, this isn't the first time am feeling this way, the pains were now getting much all over my body.
"ouch! i yelled holding my stomach, i walked outside then bumped into someone. OMG Greg Austusco, he's also here, i can't believe he's here. One of the famous musician, i do love his songs.
"hey are you Brittney? he asked staring at me.
"uhmm.. yes," i said, my head was really aching, maybe it just stress.
"i do love the way you sang on stage earlier and you have a good voice too," he said while i smiled.
"i would love you to join my music industry," he said while my eyes went opened. I turn to leave still holding my stomach. I was sweating hard which make me remove my jacket, revealing my black singlet. I took a step forward then fall to the ground.
"are you okay? Greg asked while i tried to stand on my feet again but i couldn't, i was sweating so badly, my eyes closed and everywhere was dark..

"I'll take a different cab, she can go on her own"

"He said and hung up"

"Is that mom?" I asked him

"Who else if not her"he replied

"Let's go" he said

"To where?" I asked

"Aren't you going home?" He asked

"Isn't mom coming?" I asked

"She's not, she told us to board a cab" he said

"I hope no problem?" I asked again

"You ask too much questions, she's coming in the night" he said angrily

"Calm down mama's boy" I said

"What did you just call me?" He asked

"Ma...ma's boy" I stammered

"Watch your tongue young lady" he spat at me

"I'm so...wait did I just want to say sorry?"

"Are you angry? What about when you called me a Bitch?" I asked him

"You made me called you that" he said and board a cab

"What??" I spouted

"Just get in avery" he said

"We both got inside, I turned my back at him and he did the same"

"In the next 20 mins we got home"

"We're here" the cab man sad

"We got down and ryan paid"

"Thanks" he muttered and went in while I followed behind

"Ryan we need to talk" I said to him

"Outside here?" He asked

"Let's go inside" I said and we both went in

"Now I'm listening" he said and sat down

"I sat down too"

"But do you know I shouldn't be here talking to you?" He asked

"Why? Cos of Francis right?" I asked

"Maybe, he said and stood up"

"Do you love me?" I asked

"Love you? I don't!!" He said

"But you we're angry when you saw me with Francis at the hallway!! I said to him

"Its means nothing, okay?" He said and left for his room

"Just admit you're already falling for me" I yelled and he looked back at me

"And what if I don't?" He asked and smirked

"You'll regret it and by the time you admit it, it would be too late" she said and left for her room

"Regret it??" She's day dreaming...

"I think I will have to tell avery about how I feel"

"I noticed Ryan's behavior when he saw how I was holding her but I don't care"

"I, avery and jeff went to the cafeteria while ryan left for class"

"I ordered sandwiches and yogurt, Avery and jeff ordered the same too"

"I searched for a sit near the school hall"

"Guys let's sit here" I said to them

"We sat and started eating"

"Avery what's up with ryan this morning?" Jeff asked her

"I don't know, maybe you should ask him" she replied

"Uhm no problem" jeff said

"Avery its your first day in school, don't you think you'll need someone to take you around? I asked her

"Why not? I'll love to" I replied and winked at her while she blushed"

"She's just too beautiful"

"Hmmm hmmm" jeff cleared his throat and smirked

"What is it? Enemy of progress!" I said to him

"I won't talk but don't say I didn't tell you Francis" he and walked to class

"What is he talking about? Avery asked

"Don't mind him and you look good in this uniform, don't worry after today its casual dress"

"Why do you guys wear uniform every Mondays? She asked

"I don't really know, the owner of the school insisted"

"That's awkward but everything about your school is online even the registration and I like that" she said

"Let's go avery, I'll take you round the school later in the day" I said to her

"We both went to the class, luckily for me her sit is placed beside mine while ryan and jeff sat at our back"

"But what I don't understand is the reason why Jeff keeps kicking my chair if I smile at Avery"

"Ryan's facial expression I can't even figure it out"

"The class went on after a short prayer and the teachers keeps coming in and going out"

"I can say avery is brilliant, she answered most of the questions in geometry and my feelings for her keeps getting deeper"

"I'll fight for her even if its with ryan, I'm ready"

~Ryan's POV~

"I couldn't concentrate cos of avery, is she trying to make me feel jealous or what?

"And what is Francis trying to do?

"Avery let's go since class is over, Francis said to her"

"Where're you guys going to? I asked them

"None of your business!" Avery said

"Yeah, you're right"I replied her

"Avery are you ready? Francis asked and jeff hissed

"What the hell is wrong with you jeff?" Francis asked

"Did I say anything? Jeff asked too

"Rubbish!!" Francis said and dragged avery out of the class"

"I banged my fist on the table which made all the class looked back"

"Ryan cool down, don't tell me you're angry? Jeff asked

"What is Francis thinking jeff? I asked him

"Thinking? Don't tell me you're falling for avery? Jeff asked

"Falling in love? Is this how someone acts if he or she is in love? I'm not sure jeff, I'm" I said to him

"I understand you, you're having mixed feelings" jeff said

"What does that mean?". I asked him

"Its means in a situation whereby you're conflicting about your feelings or emotions towards someone, ryan you're not sure yet".. Jeff said

"I'm very close to jeff cos he understands me better.. He's not like that dumb ass called Francis"

"Jeff I'll be right back" I said to him and left the class

"Where're you going?" I heard him say..

"Why would she ask Francis to take her around the school when I'm here? I thought as I went straight to the school hall but couldn't find them there"

"I made my way to library but I stopped when I heard someone laughing along the hallway, isn't that aver?"

"I went back and hid behind a pillar and peeped"

"But what I saw made me angry"

"Francis tickling avery!! What nonsense? And she's even laughing hard"

"I came out from where I hid and went straight to them"

"Avery follow me, I said and dragged her hand but she did the unbelievable, she jerked hand away from mine; I'm staying with Francis" she said and Francis chuckled

"What?? I asked with shock"

"You heard me right? Francis let's get out of here" she said and try to drag him along

"Don't even try to take a step" I yelled and she flinched

"Don't tell me you're angry ryan? Don't you love what you're seeing? Francis asked

"And what if I am? Its none of your business" I said to him

"Its my business ryan" he spat back

"Oh really? You've seen a girl to toy with right? I asked him

"Ryan don't let me do what I'll regret" he said

"You're nothing but a play boy. I know your motives and I won't let you have your way with avery" I yelled at him and he grabbed my collar shirt

"Then let's see would have her" he said and smirked..

"Devil" I muttered and he chuckled

"You guys should stop!!" Avery yelled

"And Francis let go of him" she said

"And you think I would?"Francis asked her

"What? You won't?" She asked

"Listen ryan, I'm letting you go cos of her.. You know me too well"

"Avery is mine!!"he whispered and left

"Ryan are you okay?" Avery asked while trying to come close to me

"Don't even try to come close or else you won't like what I'll do to you"

"Ryan I'm..."

"Shut up, go and meet your boyfriend.. Bitch!! " I said to her and walked out

"She can cry, get angry all she want.. I don't care"

"Francis you asked for this and I'll give it to you.."

"As for avery, mom should better start bringing her to school herself, I'll use my car.. I don't want to see her, she's annoying me" I said to myself and went to the school garden..
